The Wexford welterweight was only moments out of the ring in the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena when he was questioned on the judges’ call to award a 2-1 win to European champion Eimantas Stanionis of Lithuania.

“In the end it was probably the right decision, but it was very close. I’d be disappointed with whatever the judges were looking at in the first two rounds,” said Nolan.
