John Jermyn’s hat-trick inspires C of I victory

John Jermyn’s second successive hat-trick has Cork C of I mixing it with the big guns in the EY Hockey League after they scalped Glenanne 4-2 in Tallaght.

Philip Brownlow’s sharp backhand finish and Jermyn’s first were cancelled out by Eddie O’Malley and a magnificent Gary Shaw solo effort. But Jermyn converted from the spot after Philip Sweetnam was taken out and added an insurance goal.

Title favourites Monkstown won a high-quality tie littered with international quality at Lisnagarvey on a 5-2 scoreline.
