Aidan Desmond clocks up the miles as he completes unique triple in two sports over two days

On Saturday he beat Alan Long by three bowls in the opening Junior C semi-final. He raced back to Cork to line out for Dripsey in the Cork county intermediate hurling semi-final against Aghada at Páirc Uí Rinn, scoring a point in their victory. The next morning he was back in Drogheda to win the All-Ireland final.

On top of this he is still in the frame for a place on the Ireland team to contest next year’s European championships in Holland. He was dominant from the off in Sunday’s final against the Ulster champion.
