Basketball Ireland will enter a men’s team in a new FIBA European club competition.

Basketball Ireland Secretary General Bernard O’Byrne described the development as ‘a new dawn for men’s basketball’ which will benefit players - and standards- throughout the National League.

Basketball Ireland has received a special derogation from FIBA Europe to enter a combined club team.
