Noel Hehir’s dog got up on the line to nab Kilara Hey Mac in the semi-finals. Prominent from an early stage on that occasion, if he can produce a similar exit this time, he’ll take holding. He is just preferred to Madams Babe, who looks ideally drawn next to the rails.

The Golden Muzzle is one of 10 finals on the 12-race programme, and the action gets underway at 7.40pm.

Race 11 at Shelbourne Park is the Boylesports Greyhound Derby Trial stake and, while it’s a tougher test than he faced on his recent return, Derby champ Laughil Blake should have little trouble landing the spoils.

The Michael O’Donovan-trained star looks sure to lead those drawn closest to him, and can get the better of an early battle with Laurels winner Midtown Raffa.

Doing so will put him on the road to victory. Greenwell Hulk ought to be improving with each run back since his injury, and can stay on late to claim the runner-up spot.

The Track Supporters’ Club Munster Derby final is the feature on a high-class programme tomorrow night at Clonmel, and Scooby The Star should be hard to beat, though he faces a tough challenge from Cork raiders Knockbrogan King and Gwan Slab.

The selection, trained by Frances O’Donnell, produced the standout performances in the stake, including 28.42 run in the first round and his 28.58 victory in the semi-finals.

While there’s little room for error, he has the pace to lie up with the Knockbrogan King in the early stages, and can use his stamina to land the spoils.

Knockbrogan King, owned by John O’Sullivan, is tremendously consistent at traps. He led for a long way in the Lee Strand final but that 550 trip stretched his stamina. If he can clear the selection early, he’ll go close.

Gwan Slab can’t be ruled out in his bid to give trainer Kieran Lynch back-to-back victories, following Postman Don’s success in 2014.
