Focused Katie Taylor targets another golden moment

Katie Taylor bagged her 18th major medal in convincing fashion in Baku yesterday and immediately set sights on gold.

Taylor who has collected 18 major gold medals including the London 2012 gold medal, delivered a controlled display, pushing aside Sweden’s Ida Lundblad on a unanimous decision 40-34, 40-36, 40-36 and a semi-final against local Yana Alekseevna.

“I thought it was a good solid performance, I like fighting those style of fighters, those who come forward style fighters, it suited me down to the ground,” admitted Taylor, who was never troubled by Lundblad.
