Ireland coach Phil Simmons is poised to become the new boss of the West Indies.

The Trinidadian has been leading Ireland for eight years and masterminded the shock four-wicket World Cup victory over his native Windies in Australia last month.

Simmons has a contract with Cricket Ireland until the end of the year, but is in discussions about taking the coaching role with his home side.
