Moneyball: baseball star pockets a tenner every time his episode of Seinfeld screens
The former New York Mets reliever and current Atlanta Braves pitching coach briefly appeared in classic Seinfeld episode The Boyfriend. In the episode's famous JFK spoof, Kramer and Newman accused Mets player Keith Hernandez of spitting on them during a Mets game at Shea Stadium.
Jerry, however, proposed the theory there was a second spitter, which eventually turned out to be McDowell, who Kramer and Newman had taunted throughout the game.
McDowell appeared on Atlanta TV show The Fan this week and told host John Kincade that he still gets a cheque for $13.52 every time the episode airs.
