Lee to defend title against Quillin

Boxing: British 2008 Olympian Billy Joe Saunders has pocketed a six-figure sum to step aside and allow Andy Lee defend his WBO middleweight title against Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin in New York.

Saunders, the mandatory challenger, received $100,000 (€88,000) to step aside and a promise that he will meet the winner of the Limerick’s southpaw’s clash with the American.

Lee and unbeaten Chicago-born Quillin are expected to meet on the Danny Garcia versus Lamont Peter card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 11.
