Ireland head into next Saturday’s deciding senior Hurling-Shinty International in Newry with a nine-point deficit, after succumbing to their first away defeat since 2007 at Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday.

Michael Walsh’s young side, which included nine debutants, found it tough against a hungrier Scotland side who delivered a stunning display, with Man of the Match Kevin Bartlett delivering 18 points.
