Killester made to battle by UCD Marian in thriller

Reigning champions Killester were made to fight all the way before overcoming a resilient UCD Marian outfit 73-71 in a pulsating Men’s Premier League clash.

Trailing 36-35 at the break, Killester had veteran American Jermaine Turner to thank as he contributed 21points.

Killester’s mettle was tested by a UCD side who had impressive performances from Conor Meany (21) and American Peter Ross (20).

BFG Neptune got back to winning ways when beating Dublin Inter 88-76. The Cork side controlled the game and led 47-35 at the interval.

Inspired by American duo Nigel Byam (21) and Michael Bonaparte (19) and with captain Ian McLoughlan contributing 16 points, they were full value for their win.

DCU Saints easily accounted for fellow Dubliners Templeogue 95-78.

In the Women’s Premier League Singletons Supervalu Brunell took on WIT Wildcats and won impressively 61-55.

Once again Edel Thornton came to the Cork side’s rescue when finishing with 18 points and curtailing American Olivia to 13.

Former champions UL Huskies got back to winning ways when beating Killester 60-51 with Cathy Grant chipping in with 17 points.
