McCabe celebrates remarkable hat-trick

Ireland’s Conor McCabe was last night celebrating a remarkable hat-trick of victories over overseas opponents in the Tennis Europe Under-14 Circuit event in Dublin.

After a 6-2 6-0 win over Germany’s Jean Krautter on Saturday in the qualifying first round, McCabe followed up yesterday with a 6-1 6-1 success over Britain’s Russell Henderson in the qualifying second round at the National Tennis Centre at DCU, Dublin.

And later in the first round of the main draw, McCabe maintained his victory run with a 6-2 7-5 victory over Sweden’s Alex Olsson-Mork to clinch a second round battle against Germany’s Oliver Tobisch, a 6-2 6-0 winner over Ireland’s James Battle.
