Conlan hails medal haul

Northern Ireland’s boxers claimed the most medals — two gold, two silver and five bronze – at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

But head coach John Conlan, who was working Northern Ireland’s corner with Eddie Bolger and Stephen Friel, left Glasgow with one eye on the medals table.

“You have to be happy with nine medals, but our aim was to finish in the top spot in the medals table,” said Conlan.
