Illness forces Cav to quit event in Belgium

CYCLING: Mark Cavendish has withdrawn from the Three Days of De Panne race in Belgium due to illness.

The Manx sprinter suffered gastroenteritis following his fifth-placed finish at Milan-San Remo and withdrew from last Sunday’s Gent-Wevelgem. He will now return home for tests and to recuperate.
