Super six and history for Cléirigh Buttner

The Coláiste Íosagáin student indicated history was being made as she crossed the line of the senior girls 2,500m emphatically in first in 10:34 with all five digits on her right palm and the index finger on her left displayed.

“I wasn’t under pressure,” said Cléirigh Buttner after becoming the most decorated athlete in this championships having won two junior titles, two intermediates and now two seniors. I’m delighted with that; it’s never been done before. Next for me is the Athletics Ireland warm weather training camp (April) and then the build up to the World Juniors in Oregon (July).”
