Injured boxer’s family to sue US officials in wake of Rebel Perez fight

The family of a Russian boxer who was critically injured in a bout against Mike ‘The Rebel’ Perez during a Madison Square Garden fight has filed court papers preparing to sue US boxing officials for up to $100 million.

Magomed Abdusalamov lost a heavyweight fight against Perez, who was formerly based in Cork, on November 2. Hours later, he was in a coma.

His wife names New York state, the state Athletic Commission and the state Boxing Commission.
