Neptune to stage three-day basketball extravaganza

Basketball’s Champions Trophy, League Cup and League finals weekend will take place in Cork’s Neptune Stadium from March 21-23.

The three-day extravaganza will comprise the Champions Trophy semi-finals and final, the Women’s Premier League final, the League Cup semi-finals and final along with the Women’s Premier League Plate final and the Women’s Division One final.

The format for Champions Trophy qualifiers is as follows — (A) Men’s Premier League winners, (B) Men’s National Cup winners (if same as A, then Men’s Premier League runners-up), (C) next highest team in the Men’s Premier League, (D) next highest team in the Men’s Premier League, (E) Men’s Division One winners and (F) Men’s National Shield Winners (if same as E, then Men’s Division One runners-up). The semi finals are A v (E or C); and B v (F or D) in Neptune Stadium on March 21. The final will be on the 23.

League Cup qualifiers will be the highest four Men’s Premier League teams not in the Champions Trophy and the highest-placed four Men’s Division One teams not in the Champions Trophy. Semi-finals are on March 22, final on the 23rd.
