A hugely encouraging final practice run has skeleton racer Seán Greenwood in confident mood ahead of his Olympic debut tomorrow.

Greenwood, whose mother Sibéal hails from Newcastle in Galway city, posted a time of 58.08 during his second practice run at the Sanki Sliding Centre yesterday, the 18th fastest of the 30 sliders.

The 26-year-old will require a similar placing over the next two days of competition if he is to garner a place in Sunday’s final.
