The Cork outfit were hot favourites e but had no answer to the pace and power of coach Eoin Chubb’s Kubs.
A delighted Chubb said: “This is the greatest day in my sporting career, as I have coached this team since they were U13, and now to see them win this championship is a dream come true.
“We zoomed in on Neptune’s two key players and, certainly in the case of Roy Downey, we curtailed his contribution by restricting him to seven points.”
The teams were tied at 33 points each at the break but a magnificent third quarter from Kubs saw them surge 11 clear.
Inspired by Stephen O’Hanlon, Kubs applied more pressure coming down the stretch and with Neptune only chalking up four points in this period the title remained in the capital.
