Downey hits 32 points as Neptune earn final date with Kubs

Neptune will face Kubs of Dublin in the final of the U20 men’s final following respective wins over Belfast Star and Killester.

The clash of Neptune and Star was eagerly awaited but it turned out to be a disappointing game as the northerners were put to the sword in the first half.

Inspired by Roy Downey and Darren Dowling, the Cork side commanded a 23-12 opening quarter lead and on the restart, they took total control, leading 49-22 at half time, with Downey inflicting much of the damage, 32 points in total.
