Spike hoping to send out a message in London showdown
O’Sullivan puts his WBO International middleweight belt on the line against the Hatfield southpaw at Wembley Arena. Both unbeaten fighters are promoted by Frank Warren.
“I’m going to London for one reason and one reason only and that’s to win and I’m confident I can do that,” said O’Sullivan ahead of the biggest fight of his career.
Meanwhile Luke Campbell, the 2012 Olympic champion, won on his pro debut with a first round demolition of Andrew Harris in his native Hull on Saturday night.
The 25-year-old, who beat Ireland’s John Joe Nevin in the Olympic 2012 bantamweight final, stopped Harris, who was down twice, midway through the first.
Elsewhere at the weekend, Eamonn O’Kane claimed the Irish middleweight title vacated by O’Sullivan with a points decision over Anthony Fitzgerald in Dundalk on Friday night.
