Martin was sixth over the line in the same time as stage winner Mauke Mollema (Blanco) with Mathias Frank (BMC Racing Team) in second and Thibaut Pinot (Cycliste FDJ) third.

The Irishman jumps up to 12th overall, while his cousin Nicolas Roche (SaxoBank Tonkoff) was 27th over the line and is now 25th overall, 1minute and two seconds down on race leader Cam Meyer (OricaGreen-Edge).

Today’s stage takes the riders 203 kilometres from Montreux to Meiringen.

Meanwhile, Alessandro De Marchi (Cannondale) claimed victory on the final stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné while Chris Froome (Sky) sealed overall victory and underlined his ominous form ahead of the Tour de France in three weeks.
