Clark finishes creditable eighth at Badminton

Kildare rider Aoife Clark’s rise up the leaderboard at the Badminton Horse Trials saw her finish in eighth place yesterday.

The Oxfordshire-based 33-year-old had started in equal 16th place after dressage, moved up four places when adding just 0.8 penalties in Sunday’s cross-country, and gained another four places yesterday when picking up a single time penalty in the show jumping phase.

Sam Watson was also climbing, four faults with Horseware Bushman elevating the Carlow man to 22nd.
