Nineteenth win for ‘Rebel’ Perez in Germany

The Cuban-born southpaw, who fights out of Watergrasshill BC, earned a unanimous decision over the Texan at the SAP Arena in Mannheim.

The 27-year, fighting for the first time since December 2011, dominated most of the ten-rounder and looked as if he could have stopped the American, but settled for a point win.

Both men met on the Wladimr Klitschko versus Francesco Pianeta undercard. Klitschko, the WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion, stopped the Italian in the sixth.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather beat Robert Guerrero on points in Las Vegas to retain his WBC welterweight title and improve his career record to 44-0. Mayweather, returning after a year’s absence, won a unanimous decision 117-111.
