Humer handed Swim Ireland role

Swim Ireland have appointed Lars Humer as head coach at the High Performance Centre at the University Arena in Limerick.

The news comes after a turbulent time for the sport with the controversial departure of Ronald Claes and fears that the Limerick centre was set to be downgraded.

But last night University of Limerick Director of Sport, Dave Mahedy, described the appointment as ‘‘a massive shot in the arm’’ for the High Performance programme at their state of the art facility.
