Pocketrocketben going well in Derby Trial Stake

After two rounds of the Derby Trial Stake at Blarney, Siena Supreme and Pocketrocketben look the likely finalists.

Both were impressive yesterday and a repeat of that form today could see them clash in the decider.

Siena Supreme should see off Denross Tiger this morning and then could win a likely meeting with Hellorhighwater to reach the final.

In the bottom half, Chinook Eoin is likely to put out Whitchcraft Tiger and set up an intriguing battle with Pocketrocketben, who, of course, must first get can get the better of Rapid Magic.

This semi-final could be tight but I expect Pocketrocketben to come through and beat Siena Supreme in the final.

The most impressive contenders in the Oaks Trial Stake were Skellig Lola, at the top of the card, and Katelyns Bumble at the bottom.

Skellig Lola should have most to fear from Kierans Choice, whom she is fancied to meet in the semi-final while Katelyns Bumble may just shade it against Sminky Short in her semi-final.

I give Skellig Lola a cautious vote.

After the opening round of the Jack Ryan Memorial Cup, Scarty Mafi and Castlemartyr Joy indicated they could have a big say in the destination of the prize.
