Magee’s Turkish delight

Irish star Chloe Magee qualified for the finals of both the women’s singles and mixed doubles at the Turkish Open last night.

London Olympian Magee, beat opposition from Estonia, France, Ukraine and number eight seed Stefani Stoeva from Bulgaria on route to her second final of the tournament.

She will face number one seed Sashina Vignes Waran of France in today’s final after she beat home-favourite number 7 seed Ozge Bayrak in three sets.

And there was more joy for Magee after she secured her place in the Mixed Doubles final alongside brother Sam.

They beat off competition from from Ukraine, Sweden and Germany in the semi-final.

Despite having a tough three-set match in the quarter final it only took the Irish number one pairing 21 minutes to secure a place in today’s final as they took a two-set victory 21-5 21-10.

They will face another German pair; Fabian Roth and Jennifer Karnott in today’s decider.
