Irish duo in action for Arlans

European bronze medallists Eric Donovan and Tyrone McCullagh are in line to box for the Astana Arlans of Kazakhstan in the World Series of Boxing (WSB).

Both Irish boxers have been training with their new side in Astana over the last week and will be available for selection for the Arlans’ first match against the Ukraine.

Michael Conlan, bronze medal winner at the 2012 Olympics, and Sean Turner were drafted by the USA in the WSB and are poised to sign contracts. The Americans’ — who yesterday announced they had re-branded themselves as the USA Knockouts — first match will be against Great Britain in Group B on November 15.
