Holders UL pull off narrow win

Trends repeat, you know. Be it fashion, music or Kilkenny winning the hurling All-Ireland, once you get in there it’s hard to shift you.

And that’s what last season’s Nivea for Men’s SuperLeague champions UL Eagles proved when they scalped Bord Gáis Neptune in Cork yesterday.

They came back from a 13-point deficit at half-time to win with a buzzer beater on a scoreline of 72-74. And, like true champions after winning their first game of the season, their head coach Mark Keenan played the caution game.
