TV series explores Ireland’s rich equine tradition

A television series exploring Ireland’s rich equine tradition is being broadcast in the United States.

Ireland Unbridled goes to air this week on HRTV, the Network for Horse Sports, a service available to over 19 million households in America.

The 16-part series chronicles the adventures of host Susan Kayne, her daughter Rachel and assistant Victoria as they travel around Ireland, meeting many of the country’s best known racing and horse enthusiasts. The series begins with action from the Galway Festival and includes visits to the Irish National Stud in Kildare, Ballylinch Stud in Co. Kilkenny, the Curragh Training Grounds and the RACE Academy and Farriery School in Kildare town.

Horse Racing Ireland’s Director of Strategy and Marketing, Michael O’ Rourke, said: “Viewers in the US will hear Susan Kayne describing Ireland as ‘a place with a history and heritage with horses like no other place on earth, known the world over as the ‘Land of the Horse’. We have been working with Tourism Ireland, to establish the Land of the Horse theme in overseas tourism markets and this programme is a major contribution to that effort’’.
