Vedfield poised for final victory

If Vedfield Emperor can reproduce his semi-final performance he will take a world of beating in the final of the Greyhound & Pet World A1 525 at Curraheen park tonight.

Julie O'Sullivan and Declan Murphy's lightly raced tracker recorded a superb 3.29 opening split en route to a 28.47 victory.

Michael Spillane's bitch should get the better of Bound On in the early stages and, with Murdaniel Tune likely to move off, she should have the inside of the track to herself. She is very strong over this trip and will be very hard to beat.

The finale could provide some clues for the upcoming Red Mills Irish Laurels, with the exciting Money Talks having his first competitive action at the track.

Paul Hennessy’s dog has posted two fast sprint trials here recently, but the draw could be better tonight and, on this occasion, he may have to play second fiddle to John Kiely’s Sede Vacante.
