Millie bounces back with fastest of round 28.34

Punters had mixed fortunes in the Sporting Press Irish Oaks quarter-finals at Shelbourne on Saturday, as two of the heats went to big priced winners, although Cabra Millie offered some relief when recording the fastest time of the round in the final heat.

The Graham Holland trained star was an even money favourite for the final heat despite suffering defeat seven days earlier and Louise Scally’s Cabra Millie was always perfectly positioned to challenge.

Moving second before the turn she went through the gears entering the back straight to hit the front at halfway before easing clear to land the spoils by three lengths from her kennel companion in 28.34.
