Irish in hunt at Weymouth

High winds forced the cancellation of racing at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta in Weymouth yesterday.

Irish competitors, Annalise Murphy (Laser Radial); Peter O’Leary and David Bur (Star), along with Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern (49er) are in the top 10 of their respective classes and in contention for medals today.

Ger Owens and Scott Flanigan (470) were first in silver fleet while James Espey was fourth in the Laser silver fleet. Paralympians John Twomey, Ian Costello and Anthony Hegarty (Sonar) were 12th overall.
