The Force can be with punters

The contest of the night at Shelbourne this evening is the opening semi-final of the Betfair 600. Likely favourite Tibetan Skies will need to be sharper at traps than he has been in his last two outings.

There is no doubt he is amongst the fastest greyhounds in training from the second turn, but he can’t afford to allow the likes of Razldazl George, Kingo, Dynamic Trend or Monleek Force to get too far clear.

It’s the last named that comes into tonight’s contest with the best form. After making all in his last two starts, posting 32.69 and 32.54 in the process, it’s fair to suggest he is likely to make a bold bid once again.

Of course Tibetan Skies, Kingo and reigning Derby champion Razldfazl George are dangerous, but should Monleek Force get first run on his rivals he could prove a tough nut to crack.

The second semi looks a more straightforward affair with Razldazl Will expected to take some stopping.

He is a confident choice to reverse last week’s form with Slick Seattle.

Airforce Diva has quickly established herself as one of the fastest females in training and she can continue her rapid rise up the ranks with victory in the Healthcare Transport Services Puppy Oaks.

The final of the Connolly’s Red Mills Produce Stakes will headline at Clonmel’s biggest night of the year tomorrow. Owen McKenna has three finalists, but it’s the Pat Buckley-trained Paradise Martini that heads the betting. With a favourable draw in three, Paradise Martini makes most appeal, but he will need to lead around the turn if he is to see off the likes of Cashen Mafuma and Camas.
