Ruth the one to follow

Dolores Ruth is the trainer to follow in this evening’s quarter-finals of the Betfair 600 at Shelbourne Park as the Rathangan handler sends out three of the four heats favourites.

Razldazl Will looks the banker in the opening heat. He seemed to appreciate the step up to 600yds when impressing in the opening-round and a repeat should be enough.

Ruth’s Defending champion, Kingo, will be favourite in Heat 2, but this is most competitive heat of the round and claims can be made for Dynamic Trend, Airlie Impact, Monleek Force and Tyrur Willyjoe.

Derby champion Razldazl George ran flat in the opening round, but he looks well housed on the fence in Heat 3, where Ardkill Star and Rockchase Bullet are obvious threats.

Owen McKenna’s Tibetan Skies will start favourite in the final heat. He should come on for his latest run and if he turns close to the pace, he should have too much power for his rivals.

The Larry Dunne Open 525 also gets underway. Easter Cup champ Tyrur Big Mike is favourite to win the event and he should make a winning start in Heat 2.

Another likely winner is the exciting Ballymac Vic in the opening heat.

Racing gets underway with the semi-finals of the Puppy Oaks and College Maybe and Airforce Diva should dominate their respective heats.

The semi-finals of the Connolly’s Red Mills Produce Stakes take place at Clonmel tomorrow night, where Owen McKenna’s Confident Rankin looks the obvious choice in the first heat.

Dear Pa should take beating in the other semi-final.
