Phil turns on the Power in O2

The McCoy’s Premier League Darts tournament took place in Dublin’s O2 arena last night and the sellout event proved a roaring success.

Fans were treated to some thrilling action at the oche as reigning world champion Adrian Lewis and 15-time world champion Phil The Power Taylor both recorded wins.

Taylor, who leads the series, beat James Wade 8-2.

Lewis beat fellow Englishman Kevin Painter 8-3.

Dutch star Raymond van Barneveld was another winner on the night, coming out the right side of an 8-5 thriller against Scotland’s Gary Anderson.

England’s Andy Hamilton drew 7-7 with Australia’s Simon Whitlock in the first match of the night.

After seven weeks, Taylor now leads the 14-match series from van Barneveld, his closest rival, by four points.

The Irish leg of the Premier League roadshow is now expected to become an annual fixture.
