Courtmac bonanza for Bradford anglers
They fished inshore on Friday and Saturday due to the weather conditions, but on the Sunday they ventured offshore to the wrecks and caught ling near weight of 23lbs, specimen pollack up to 12½lbs and medium sized coalfish, cod, haddock and whiting.
Elsewhere, one 8lb salmon was landed last week, by a Michael O’Sullivan, Killarney, on the Flesk. Last Thursday, local angler, John Brud O’Sullivan, had a 9lb salmon trolling on Lough Currane.
The 2012 Leinster Youths Fly tying competition took place at the Tullaghan Centre, Lough Owel on Saturday. Each competitor had to tie four fly patterns, and they had to tie two of each pattern.
The flies were: Pheasant Tail Nymph, Peter Ross, Connemara Black and a dry Green Peter.

In the Greenfields area of Lough Corrib a number of anglers reported trout on the fly, including Frank Reilly, who had two good trout averaging 2lbs on wetfly patterns. Peter Byrne, Castlebar, also had two trout for about 2½lbs, both returned.
In the Dooras-Cornamona area, 12 boats were trolling and fly anglers had less success. Peter Curran, Cornamona had two trout trolling for 3¼lbs.
Jimmy Molloy, Cong and his son landed five trout on the troll and Padraic Kerrigan caught and released two fish for 3½lbs.
