Attractive card for Newbridge reopening

WHILE today may be the eve of the Irish Greyhound Derby final, it will be a significant day for the sport with the reopening of Newbridge Track and also the first round of the Track Bookmakers Puppy Derby at Harold’s Cross.

Attractive card for Newbridge reopening

Newbridge will stage its first meeting for many months under new management and racing manager Eamon Mackey has put together a very attractive opening programme. Punters can get off to a perfect start with the Tony Byrne trained Fiddlerontheroof in the opener and others that could pay to follow include the Paul Hennessy trained pair of Tranquil Time and De Ex Factor.

A number of new stars will be unveiled at Harold’s Cross in the twelve heats of the Puppy Derby and one of them could well be Phil Gough’s Sparta Maestro which brings a three from three record into Heat 3. He has looked a bit special around Waterford and his 28.65 trial was also very encouraging.
