Keane abandons Olympic dream

OLYMPIC triathlon hopeful Bryan Keane admits his dreams of qualifying for London next year are over.

Keane sustained serious injuries in a training accident last year and the prolonged recovery period has forced him to abandon his dream.

Keane said: “It’s incredibly frustrating, it was always a race against time to get back.

“I returned to racing, which was brilliant, but unfortunately my injury just hasn’t fully resolved itself yet and I’m not competing at the level I need to be at.” I’m now going to build towards the 2012 season and look to replicating the form I showed prior to my injury.”
