Martin grabs lead

IRISH rider Dan Martin (Garmin-Cervelo) has taken over as race leader of the Tour of Poland after a brilliant win on yesterday’s stage six.

Martin grabs lead

The defending champion timed his attack to perfection in the final kilometre of the 207km trek to Bukowina Tatrzan’ska.

Martin’s relentless attacking thinned out a group of some 14 chasers and brought about the end of Peter Sagan’s run in the yellow jersey. The Slovakian cracked inside the final 500m and lost 13 seconds to slip three seconds behind Martin ahead of today’s final stage, which starts and finishes in Krakow.
