Niland makes a winning return

THE home fans came along to see Wimbledon hero Conor Niland in Davis Cup action and weren’t disappointed.

Just over two weeks after almost making the second round at the All-England club, the Limerick man set the tone for Ireland in the Davis Cup relegation play-off against Tunisia in Dublin.

After a tight opening set, Niland saw off Tunisian number two Anis Ghorbel 6-4 6-2 6-1 after an hour and 47 minutes at the David Lloyd Riverview venue.
