Magpie can make amends

Kieran Lynch's dog showed terrific early pace to race clear in the opening round but, on that occasion, he was unable to resist the determined challenge of Maeves A Lady. A similar break in this company should be enough to see him clear once more and he is a confident selection to hold on this time.

Tom O'Neill's Cool Present could represent some value in the second heat. Normally a very fast starter, he missed the kick last time but ran a good race to take second place behind runaway winner Heres The Deal. Well drawn tonight and capable of leading along the inside, he can improve on last week's effort and is the one they'll have to catch. Maeves A Lady is a worthy favourite for this heat and can push the selection all the way.
