Riverstown line-up top class show

THE Vienna Woods Hotel in Glanmire, Co. Cork, will host the Riverstown Boxing Club’s annual tournament tomorrow night, with a top-class show on the cards.

Riverstown star David Roche, who beat Cuban champ Yoangel Moyagibert en route to bronze at the recent Pavlyukov Youth Multi-Nations in Russia, will box against Dublin’s Dean Dunne in the lightweight class.

Hughie Brady, Willie Keane, James O’Leary, Eimear Coughlan, Alan Connolly, Luke Delaney and Michael O’Leary will also feature on the card.

Keane will trade leather with Barry Walsh of St Colman’s in a repeat of last February’s duel which Keane edged 12-11 following a cracking bantamweight clash.

“Boxing fans won’t be disappointed on Friday night as we have some excellent bouts matched up and it promises to be a very competitive evening’s boxing, said Riverstown’s John Wiseman, secretary of the Cork County Board.

Tickets are available at the door for the show. Doors will open at 7pm ahead of the opening bell at 7.30.
