Tobin and Farrell notch Euro youth Olympic slots

SOME of Ireland top young talents secured qualification for international events at the Woodie’s DIY AAI Games at windswept Santry yesterday.

Sean Tobin (Clonmel AC) achieved the European Youth and World Youth qualification standards when he won the 3,000m B final in 8:33.51.

Another to impress was Daire Farrell (Carrick on Shannon AC) who won the B men’s 800m in 1:54.62, good enough to secure his passage to the European Youth Olympics.
