BELGIAN cyclist Wouter Weylandt has died after crashing on the third stage of the Giro d’Italia yesterday.

The 26-year-old Leopard Trek rider crashed on the descent of the day’s first climb, the Passo del Bocco.

The exact circumstances were unknown, but television cameras caught him on the ground unconscious.
