Rockview Head out of Produce with tonsillitis

LAST weekend’s Juvenile Classic winner Rockview Head was a late withdrawal from the Red Mills Produce Stakes and his name did not figure in the draw for the first round which will be run tomorrow and Sunday at Clonmel.

Rockview Head was operated on for tonsils following his Tralee success and so will be on the sidelines for a little while. However Happy Hermit, which ran up the event, will be a runner and she has been drawn to contest Heat 8 on Sunday where the opposition will include the Juvenile Classic Consolation runner-up Colourful Bolt and the very highly rated Modges Hawk.

Seamus Whelan’s Piercestown Sand, winner of the Open Unraced at Clonmel in February, will go into action tomorrow in Heat 5 and it promises to be quite a race with the likes of Colorful Marco and Beaming Therapy among the opposition.

Following a few late withdrawals there were 84 names in the draw and so there will be fourteen heats in the opening round with three qualifying, plus the six fastest fourths.
