Glanmire seek final revenge over DCU
Breen has been battling with a back problem and, making matters worse, injured a finger in last week’s league win over Oblate Dynamos.
Coach Mark Scannell is praying his skipper will play. “Marie has struggled big time for the past month and just when she was testing her back injury against Dynamos, she hurt her finger after five minutes,” he said. “It has been a week of intensive physiotherapy for her but we will give her every chance to get ready.”
Holders DCU Mercy have no injury problems as coach Mark Ingle looks forward to another titanic battle.
“The record between us has been incredible over the years; I’m expecting another magnificent encounter in this final. We defeated Montenotte last season in the final and after so many disappointments against them, I hope my players remember the difference between victory and defeat.”
The Capital side are led by Lindsay Peat and her contribution could decide the title. Claire Rockall has been outstanding for Montenotte and the Cork side will not go down a fight.
