Templeogue dig deep to prevail

Tolka Rovers had an excellent start to the opening quarter and with Dave O’Leary in outstanding form they surged into an eight-point lead in the opening quarter.

Midway through the quarter Tolka increased their lead to 29-17 before the Lynch brothers exploded and cut the deficit to 35-32 at the break.

In the third quarter the tempo increased and when Ian Lynch shot a three in the 23rd minute Templeogue had surged into a 44-39 lead.

The quality of basketball in the closing minutes of the quarter created a great atmosphere between the rival fans and after a tremendous open period Templeogue led 53-46 entering the final quarter.

Coming down the stretch Templeogue inspired by the outstanding Eoghan O’Connor and Ian Lynch produced crucial baskets that pushed them over the finishing line.
