Emphasis on fun at Millstreet charity show
Of course, its popularity speaks volumes in that regard, but it must bolster the resolve of the organising committee to see ever-increasing numbers and this weekend is no different. The three-day event begins today in Millstreet with a 10% rise in entries on last year boosting the feelgood factor, as testified yesterday by an upbeat Keith Griffin, a member of the organising committee.
“There’s no recession in Millstreet... at least not this weekend,” joked Griffin. “I thought last year’s record of 3,200 entries would not be beaten, but it’s up to 3,500 this year, which is amazing,” he said.
