Curraheen Park bucks recession with strong demand at sale

ONE of the best sales at the venue for some time took place at Curraheen Park yesterday with a large number of the lots sold. The top two lots sold for €4,000 each.

First to go for that price was Eugene Sheehan’s (Mallow) Satin Madge, after she was an impressive eleven lengths winner of her pre-sales trial in 28.99. The purchaser was Ray Patterson from Devon.

The second lot to be knocked down for that price to Tyrone purchaser Cecil Beatty was Michelle Murphy’s (Clonbanin) Ferndale Bow Wow. The son of Droopys Scolari had carded 29.19 when a seven lengths winner of his trial.
